Onıń poeziyalarınan Les Contemplations hám «Ásirler anızı» (La Légende des siècles) kritikler tárepinen ayrıqsha bahalanǵan. Basqa mámeleketlerde onıń eń ataqlı shıǵarmaları «Biysharalar» (Les Misérables) hám «Notre-Dame de Paris» esaplanadı.
